MORE INFO

Extraction

Inshanti’s Prickly Pear Seed Oil is 100 percent pure and extracted solely from the seeds of the prickly pear. It is not mixed with any other base/carrier oil, and more importantly, it is not mixed or made from prickly pear flowers, which would give it a lower quality.

Production

The production of Prickly Pear Seed Oil is a labor-intensive and extremely lengthy process. Its extraction is done mechanically by cold pressing (without solvents) from small seeds of prickly pears. Because the seeds are very hard and contain only about 5 percent oil, the amount of seeds required to produce a liter of oil corresponds to almost one ton of fruits. Hence, its production cost is very high and this oil can be considered the most expensive plant oil in the world.

The Moroccan Prickly Pear Seed Oil has the best quality when compared on chemical composition and ingredients to the Mexican, Tunisian or Greek prickly pear seed oils. There are many regions in Morocco in which prickly pears can be grown, but the best region is located in precisely in the city of Sidi Ifni, in the south of Morocco.
