You need to be cautious where and how you use thyme thymol essential oil—it’s that powerful. Be careful to dilute it well (1%) and avoid skin contact. But when used responsibly, thyme thymol can inhibit the growth of fungi and viruses and provide great infection protection. If you’re looking for antimicrobial protection for your children or an elderly relative, choose thyme linalol or thyme geraniol instead, both much gentler varieties of thyme.
