HOW TO USE

Antiseptic: Oregano is a natural antiseptic with antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties. Apply on cuts, scrapes or wounds to help prevent infections. See Antiseptic Gel recipe in recipes tab.

  • Antiseptic – Assists in fighting germs/infections.
  • Antiviral – An agent that can destroy or inhibit the growth and reproduction of viruses.
  • CNS Sedative – Calming to the central nervous system.
  • Expectorant– Promotes discharge of phlegm and mucus from the lungs and throat.
  • Immunostimulant – Stimulates functioning of the immune system.

RECIPES

Antiseptic Gel

6 drops oregano

6 drops benchmark thyme

7 drops lavender, fine

2 oz. aloe vera gel

Directions: Blend all ingredients together. Store in a 2 oz. container. Apply to effected area 1-3 times daily.

SAFETY

According to Tisserand, Oregano is known to be a moderate skin irritant and a strong mucous membrane irritant.  He recommends using at not more than 1% concentration on mucous membrane.
Our Oregano has a high phenol content and  should never be used on the skin undiluted and we recommend using skin nourishing oils with Oregano to decrease the skin irritation. Do not use on Hypersensitive, diseased or damaged skin. Oregano is to be used cautiously. Do not use during pregnancy.

If pregnant, nursing or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician or clinical certified aromatherapist. For external use only. Keep away from mucous membranes & eyes. Test a small amount on skin for allergic reaction. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid using on infants and small children under the age of five years old.

Always dilute essential oils with a carrier oil.
